When I first announced I was reading Project 2025 from the Heritage
Foundation, I was searching for others to read it with me. I would still love
that with a conservative group and a liberal group for broader perspective (and
with civility). Ideally section by
section. I found only those who had
heard excerpts via memes / posts, or you tube videos and then heard selected
sections so I was wary of context.
Any way I am up to page 349.
I will try to summarize and doing so will try to best hold
back my biases.
Had I written this book I would had done so from a different
premise. A logical one versus political and to a strong degree angry. Too often the writers start out complaining
about what they perceive as systems failures and go into diatribes of what they
feel are inappropriate actions implemented by a diabolical left and sometimes assisted
by a paid off or obtuse right. Little
history is provided to explain why those decision ranging from Lundon Johnson’s
Great Society to Now are not explored
for the why but simply shadowed with their perception to modify government for broad
take over.
When they do get “On Topic” there may be value in some of
what they say. They discuss the waste of
government spending. That Congress does
not always follow the needs of the people in their bills and vote. That some government agencies are too heavy
and perhaps have people in place that aren’t performing but know someone thus remain
in office. But there is no logic applied
to the WHY it happened.
As a previous Quality Professional, I was taught to look
deep and find root cause. Eliminate or
change the root cause you eliminate or change the problem. Their views are surface based and slanted to
reflect and direct to a solution they want.
Not one that addresses the problem might result in achieving.
This is where I want to discuss the points – and ideally create
a Pod Cast group where we could prepare for a section. Bring in the clear history of:
Why was it deemed needed?
What was its original structure and intent?
Did that structure and intent address the root cause?
If it did has it maintained that OR has politics altered it
/ re-directed it and why?
How can we best fix it?
AND!!!
Should it be a states issue or a Federal one? Or a combo of
both?
So that is mt desire to get a group to review this document
that has in some areas (my opinion) some good points – and discuss those. But also review what I perceive and biased views
and direction that may be bad for the country we know and love.
Looking for others from all sides to join me.
