Series - Africa 2

 In series one I told you (if anyone ever reads this) Linda and I are going to Africa.  I even laid out the time line.  But I never mentioned why.  Because we are old and getting older.  Because in all our travel we vividly remember the wonders seen, foods that awed us and shared experiences both fun and terrifying.  We want at least one more great one before our time and/or money runs out, and Africa has always been on our list and always at the top.  Would have loved to do it when younger but with 4 children and money tight no chance.  But now we have time, sufficient money and still enough vigor to do it.  To wait later makes no sense.

But as I mentioned above we are no spring chickens - so we have to get in shape!  Fortunately, we have over 4 months and 24 days to get ready.  I need to lose weight and increase stamina.  I need to do it slowly and with specific goals and objectives.  

First
Weight - Currently 221 pounds and ideally a target of 180 would be splendid

How to achieve that goal?  The only true way that is effective short and long term.  Diet and exercise.

My Plan

May - target a minimum 7000 steps a day

         - Start yoga for flexibility a simple starter online class

         - Begin weights again sit ups and push ups - START SLOWLY

I will record progress in each area with targets I will select after I start and see where I am at physically,
The one target I already have is in steps per day.

May 7000 June 8000 July 9000 August 10000 and hold that.

Yes I am doing this to be in great shape for Africa but also beyond it.  Linda and I are so exited.  Now I need to also get the tasks done around the house.  So much to do inside and out.
I can incorporate all of this summer with my planned exercises and really get into shape.  This has given me focus and motivation.
